African fish eagle
'Haliaeetus vocifer'
Swahili: Furukombe wa Afrika
Best parks to see it: Widespread
Found around water, either fresh or saline, though it can stray far off it. Spread throughout the country except in the driest north and east. More numerous at the Rift lakes and Lake Victoria. Besides fish, carrion and other birds also make up its diet. In occasions it will steal prey from other raptors. At Lake Baringo, the njemps fishermen throw fresh fish at them to the tourists' delight.
