Golden palm weaver
'Ploceus bojeri'
Swahili: Mnana-minazi
Best parks to see it: Coastal Kenya, Samburu, Meru
Noisy and gregarious, sometimes it forms mixed colonies with African golden weaver. It builds spherical nests with no entrance tube hanging from palm leaves. It is found throughout Kenya's coast from north to south, and inland along the Tana river up to Meru and by the Ewaso Nyiro river from Lorian Swamp to Samburu. Also found by the Athi river and at Hunter's Lodge in Kiboko (on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway).
