Best parks to see it: Widespread

A large pelican which flocks by thousands at the alkaline Rift Valley lakes. Breeding colonies are mainly located at Lake Elmenteita. It flies in V-formations with all individuals feeding in a coordinated fashion, submerging their heads and necks at the same time.
