Looks like a sparrow with white patches in brows, wings, rump and tail. Inhabits dry scrubland, savannah and forest below 4,600 ft (1,400 m). Found in the most arid regions, from the northwest tip to Baringo and Samburu, northeast region and southeast through Tsavo. Nests in small noisy colonies on thorn trees and flies down to the ground to feed.
